Sketchy

Sketchy by Makihirochi (Kodansha) is an uplifting slice-of-life story about trying something new as a grown-up. Ako is in her thirties, working full-time at a movie rental shop and feeling a little stuck, when a skateboarder flies past her in the park and sparks a sudden fascination. Nudged along by a coworker, she signs up for skateboarding lessons alongside two other women with reasons of their own. It's warm, funny, and encouraging, a lovely pick for anyone who's ever wanted to start a hobby late.
