Homunculus

Homunculus by Hideo Yamamoto (Seven Seas) is a psychological drama about seeing what people hide. Susumu Nakoshi is a former businessman living out of his car. A medical student offers him money to undergo trepanation, an experimental procedure that drills a small hole in his skull. Afterward, Nakoshi begins to see some people as strange, distorted figures that seem to reflect their inner selves. It's an unsettling, mature read for fans of psychological seinen.
